Bring your work over from another computer or your Claude chats

Already been using Booked Solid on another machine, or built up booking work inside your Claude chats? The first-run opening has a dedicated door for exactly that, so you can bring everything over instead of starting from zero.

Open the bring-over door

On the opening, choose I've already started using Booked Solid. (If you skipped the opening earlier, replay it from Settings > General > Replay the opening.) You'll see three options:

• Find my Booking HQ - opens a folder picker so you can point the app at the folder that holds your existing work.
• It's on my other computer - explains how to get your Booking HQ folder from another machine onto this one.
• My work is in my Claude chats - explains what to do when your booking work so far lives in Claude conversations rather than in a folder.

Point the app at your folder

1. Click Find my Booking HQ and pick the folder in the picker.
2. The app inspects what you picked. It can tell the difference between a folder with real work in it, a fresh scaffold, and a folder that isn't a Booking HQ at all, and it adopts safely based on what it finds.
3. If it's the right one, click Use this as my Booking HQ. Your work is live immediately.
4. Picked the wrong folder? Click Pick another folder and try again.

If the folder is empty or brand new

When the folder you picked is empty or only a scaffold, the app offers Start fresh here: it adopts that folder and builds a clean Booking HQ inside it. And if you decide mid-way that you'd rather not bring anything over after all, Start fresh instead gets you a brand-new setup.

Moving from another computer: the short version

1. On the old computer, find your Booking HQ folder. Its path shows in Settings > General > Your Booking HQ on that machine.
2. Copy the whole folder to the new computer - a USB drive or any file-sync service works.
3. On the new computer, use Find my Booking HQ, pick the copied folder, and click Use this as my Booking HQ.

Changed your mind later?

You can switch folders at any time after setup. Go to Settings > General > Your Booking HQ and use Change to pick a folder yourself, or Find my existing Booking HQ to let the app look for one and confirm with Use this one or Not this one.
