EPIN: the going-rate network - what leaves, what never leaves, and how to leave

Created by Ziv Raviv, Modified on Sat, 11 Jul at 10:30 AM by Ziv Raviv

EPIN is Booked Solid's opt-in going-rate network: once a week, one disguised postcard about your market leaves your machine, and in return you get going-rate intelligence gathered from working performers like you. It is off by default, you see the exact postcard before you ever join, and you can step out at any time.

Where to find EPIN

Open the Settings tab, stay on the General sub-tab, and scroll to the EPIN card. The card has a ? help toggle that explains it in place, and a Join EPIN toggle that starts enrollment. The same card is also embedded inside the Autopilot flow, because Autopilot requires EPIN membership (more on that below).

The Settings tab, General sub-tab, in the Booked Solid OS desktop app - the EPIN card lives on this page

What leaves and what never leaves

Before you join, the card shows you everything. The invite face lists seven house promises, a Show me my postcard button, and a What EPIN is and is not link that opens the full circuit charter page.

Click Show me my postcard and you land on the preview face: selects for your act, country, US state, market size, and years working. As you set each one, the postcard rebuilds live in front of you, so what you're reading is the real thing built from your own numbers - not a sample. Right beside it sits the What leaves / What never leaves readout, spelling out exactly which fields go into the weekly postcard and which stay on your machine.

How to join

  1. In Settings > General, find the EPIN card and flip the Join EPIN toggle.
  2. Read the seven house promises on the invite face, then click Show me my postcard.
  3. On the preview face, set your act, country, US state, market size, and years working, and watch the postcard rebuild live. Check the What leaves / What never leaves readout.
  4. Click Looks right, let me join (or Not yet to back out with nothing sent).
  5. Verify it's you: enter your purchase email, click Send my code, type the 6-digit code from your inbox, and click Join. Use Send it again if the code didn't arrive, or Back to my postcard to review once more.

Life as a member

Once joined, the card shows the current member count plus three controls:

  • Read my receipts: the full history of every postcard that has gone out. You can read each one before and after it sends.
  • Send now: send this week's postcard on the spot instead of waiting.
  • Step out of EPIN: leave the network (see below).

The weekly postcard goes out automatically. Fully unattended sending - the postcard leaving while you're away from the app - is an Otto-tier behavior. Either way, every send leaves a receipt in your history.

EPIN and Autopilot

Turning on Autopilot requires two things: the Otto tier and EPIN membership. If you start Autopilot before joining, the EPIN gate modal appears with the full enrollment embedded - the same promises, postcard preview, and email verification described above. Join right there and the flow continues straight into the Autopilot task chooser, or click Not now to stop.

How to leave

  1. On the joined EPIN card, click Step out of EPIN.
  2. The leave modal offers Step out or Stay on EPIN, and explains the 90-day deletion of your contributed data.

You can leave at any time, and your past postcards can be pulled on request. Keep in mind that stepping out also closes the Autopilot gate until you rejoin.
