Your Booking HQ is the folder on your computer where Booked Solid keeps your work. You can see where it is, move to a different folder, recover a lost one, restore a backup, and even give it a performance tune-up - all from Settings > General > Your Booking HQ.
See where your Booking HQ lives
Open Settings > General and scroll to the Your Booking HQ section. The path readout at the top shows the exact folder the app is using right now.
Change to a different folder
- Click Change next to the path readout.
- Pick the folder you want in the folder picker.
The app switches to reading and writing in the new location.
Find an existing Booking HQ
If you have used Booked Solid before and are not sure where your folder went, click Find my existing Booking HQ. The app searches for a Booking HQ on this computer and shows you what it found. Confirm with Use this one to adopt it, or Not this one to keep looking.
Restore a backup
- In the Restore a backup area, use Choose backup to pick the backup you want.
- Click Restore selected backup.
Two safety rules apply every time:
- Before anything is restored, your current Booking HQ is copied first, so a restore never destroys what you have now.
- Keys are never stored in a backup. Your connected-account keys stay out of backup files entirely, so restoring a backup never moves or exposes them.
Faster, lighter answers: the tune-up
The Tune up my Booking HQ button reorganizes how your notes are tagged internally so Otto can find answers faster and with less effort. It is safe to run: the app backs everything up before it starts, and an Undo button lets you reverse the whole tune-up if you prefer how things were.
If the Dashboard says it can't read your folder
When the app cannot read the Booking HQ folder it expects - for example, the folder was moved or renamed outside the app - the Dashboard shows a Choose Booking HQ folder button. Click it, point the app at the right folder, and everything comes back.
