Sync your Mac's Contacts, Reminders, and Calendar

On a Mac, Booked Solid can sync with the apps you already live in: Contacts, Reminders, and Calendar. Turn each one on individually and run a sync whenever you want, from Settings > General > Your Mac's own apps.

Where the controls live

Open Settings > General and scroll to the Your Mac's own apps section. You will find:

  • A Contacts sync toggle
  • A Reminders sync toggle
  • A Calendar sync toggle
  • A Sync now button

Turn sync on

  1. Flip the toggle for each app you want synced. You can enable one, two, or all three - they are independent.
  2. Click Sync now to run a sync immediately rather than waiting.
  3. If macOS asks for permission to let Booked Solid access an app's data, allow it - the sync cannot read anything macOS has not approved.

Mac only, by design

This section appears only on macOS, because it talks to Apple's own apps. If you run Booked Solid on Windows, you will not see Your Mac's own apps in Settings at all - that is expected, not a bug. Windows users connect their calendar and contacts through the Connectors tab instead.

Picking what to sync

  • Contacts is the usual first pick: the people you perform for and book with become available to Otto without retyping anyone.
  • Calendar keeps your gigs and availability in view.
  • Reminders brings your existing to-dos along, so nothing lives in two places.

If you are not sure, start with just Contacts, use the app for a few days, and add the others once you see how the synced data shows up in your work.

Changing your mind

Flip any toggle off to stop syncing that app. The toggles are not one-way - you can turn a sync back on later and press Sync now to catch up on the spot.
