Skills are extra abilities Otto can pick up to handle particular kinds of work. He manages them himself, turning them on and off as jobs need them, so most performers never open this list. It exists for the rare day something conflicts and you want to flip a skill by hand.
Where the Skills list lives
- Open Settings > General.
- Scroll to the Advanced expander and open it.
- Click into Skills.
Reading the list
At the top is a filter with three views - All, On, and Off - each showing a count, so you can see at a glance how many skills exist and how many are currently active.
Each skill row shows:
- An on/off toggle for that skill.
- A scope badge telling you where the skill applies.
- A description of what the skill does in plain words.
When to flip a skill manually
The one real reason to touch this list is a conflict: a skill is doing something that clashes with how you work, or two abilities are stepping on each other during a job. In that case:
- Use the On filter to see only active skills.
- Read the descriptions and find the one behind the behavior you are seeing.
- Flip its toggle off.
The change takes effect right away, and the toggle works both directions - if turning a skill off did not help, or you miss what it was doing, turn it back on.
A note on leaving it alone
Because Otto manages skills himself, a skill you switch off by hand is one he was presumably using for a reason. If you are unsure which skill is causing trouble, it is better to ask Otto about the behavior in chat, or send a ticket describing what you are seeing, than to switch things off broadly. The list is a scalpel, not a circuit breaker.
