You are on the Today tab, the spotlight card at the top says something needs your call, and you click Review this decision. Nothing changes. In the words of the ticket that started this article: "when I click review this decision button, nothing happens." The page looks identical, the button does nothing you can see, and the fair conclusion is that the feature is broken.
It is not broken. On older builds that click fired every single time. Its effect landed on the other side of the window, where you were not looking. Here is how to reach your decision right now, and how to make the button behave the way you expected it to.
The ten-second test: which behaviour do you have?
Click Review this decision once and watch the button label itself, not the rest of the page.
- The label changes to Hide the decision and a card unfolds directly beneath it. You are on version 1.11.14 or later and the button is doing exactly what it should. Jump to What the decision card lets you do below.
- The label stays Review this decision and nothing visible moves. You are on a build older than 1.11.14. The click still worked. Read the next section.
To read the number itself rather than infer it, open the Settings tab and look at the Updates block. It says You're running Booked Solid followed by your version.
On builds before 1.11.14, the result landed two panes away
The spotlight card labelled The single best next move sits in the right pane of the app. On builds before 1.11.14, clicking Review this decision opened the Activity view, and Activity lives in the left column, next to the Chat and Power view switch, above your conversation. The change happened on the far side of the window from the button you pressed. Nothing moved where you were looking, which is precisely why it reads as a dead button.
Almost everyone clicks it again, then a few more times. That is a dead end. On those builds every click re-opened the same Activity pane in the same off-to-the-side place, so repeat clicking changes nothing and only makes the app feel more broken than it is. Skip that. Do this instead:
- Look at the top of the left column for three controls: Chat, Power view, and an Activity button.
- Click Activity.
- Pick the Board tab. Your parked decision is sitting there as a card. In the original ticket it read "Send the Fernbank Museum gala cold outreach".
- The card carries Approve, Edit first and Not now. Choose there, and your verdict routes straight back into the run.
If there is no Chat, Power view or Activity control anywhere, the window is too small
This is the hidden cause behind most "I clicked it and nothing happened" reports, and it is worth ruling out before anything else. Booked Solid places the conversation column and the panels column side by side only when the window is at least 1024 pixels wide. Below that the layout collapses to a single column, and the left conversation column stacks out of your viewport, taking Chat, Power view and Activity with it. You cannot see where the click landed because that part of the app is not on your screen at all.
Maximize the Booked Solid window, or drag its edge until it is wider than 1024 pixels. The left column reappears with all three controls and the steps above work. Compare against that number rather than guessing: if you keep Booked Solid snapped to half of a small laptop display, that half is very often under 1024 pixels, and a screen too narrow for both columns is what makes this button look completely dead rather than merely confusing.
The permanent fix: update to 1.11.14 or later
From version 1.11.14 onward, Review this decision opens the decision right where you clicked it. The card unfolds in place directly beneath the button, pushing the rest of the briefing down rather than covering it, and the button label becomes Hide the decision so a second click folds it away again. The result can no longer land in the far column, and it can no longer end up off-screen on a narrow window.
To get it: click the update badge in the top bar, and when the update window reaches Ready, click Restart & install. The full walkthrough is in How updates work: the update badge and Restart & install. If the update refuses to land, see The app is stuck on an old version or won't update.
What the decision card lets you do
For a parked decision, the card that unfolds under the button is the same decision card the Activity Board shows, so nothing is watered down by reviewing it from Today:
- Approve: green-light it as it stands, and Otto continues the run from there.
- Edit first: describe what is off, and Otto reworks it with your note.
- Chat about it: talk it through with Otto. The decision stays parked while you do.
- Not now: put it on hold. It stays parked so you can come back to it.
- Never (make it a rule): kill it for good. It goes on hold now, and the ban is written up as a standing rule for you to approve.
Two exceptions, so they do not surprise you. If the item the spotlight picked is a job or a lead that needs you rather than a parked decision, the card that unfolds carries no Approve and no Edit first. It shows the item and one Act on it in Activity button, because that kind of work is handled on the Board. And if the decision is one only you can carry out, such as switching a connection on, Otto cannot approve it on your behalf, so the card offers the door to that screen and Not now instead.
If Approve is greyed out, the button is not broken either. Your own house rules are blocking that send, usually a fee below your floor rate or a recipient on your never-contact list, and the card says which. Approve, edit, or hold a decision (gate cards on the Board) covers that in full.
The Activity screen still does everything it always did
Nothing about Activity was taken away. It remains the full Board of running jobs, queued jobs and every parked decision, with the items that need you pinned to the top. The Today spotlight only ever surfaces one decision, the single best next move, so if you can't find the decision you had in mind on the Today tab, it is because the spotlight picked a different one. Open Activity, read the Board, and everything parked is there. See The Activity screen: watch Otto work on the Board and Live views.
What not to bother with
- Do not generate a support bundle for this. It is not a crash, and there is nothing in the log to find.
- Do not follow The app went blank or froze. The window is not blank or frozen. It is showing you a column you cannot see.
- Do not reinstall the app. A reinstall will not widen your window and will not move the decision anywhere new.
Still not working?
If you are on 1.11.14 or later, the window is wider than 1024 pixels, and clicking the button still does not change its label or open a card, submit a ticket from this help center. Tell us three things: your app version, whether the Chat and Power view controls are visible on the left, and a screenshot of the whole window rather than a crop. That is usually enough to pinpoint it on the first reply.
Other ways people describe this

- I can't find the decision the Today tab is talking about.
- Nothing in the left column: window too small, or screen too narrow.
- The single best next move card has a button that does nothing.
