When Booked Solid shows the paused-license screen, your license was paused or revoked on the billing side - most often because a subscription payment stopped. Nothing is wrong with your data: everything you have built lives in your Booking HQ folder on your own computer and is waiting for you. Getting back in takes two clicks: Renew, then Check again.
What the paused screen means
Booked Solid quietly rechecks your license in the background while you work. If the license is revoked or signed out on the server, the app flips back to the Account Gate - even in the middle of a session - and shows the paused message with two buttons: Renew and Check again. This is the app being honest about your account state, not a crash.
Get back in: Renew, then Check again
- On the paused screen, click Renew. The buy page opens in your browser.
- Complete the purchase there to reactivate your subscription.
- Come back to the app and click Check again. The app revalidates your license, the gate steps aside, and you are back where you left off.
If you believe you already paid
Sometimes the app just needs a fresh check:
- Click Check again first. If the payment already went through, revalidation clears the gate without buying anything.
- If the gate still says paused after a successful payment, contact the help desk - the Need a hand? Contact the help desk link on the gate opens chrismichael.site/booked/help. Include the email you bought with so your license can be found quickly.
Paused is not the same as offline
There is a separate gate state for being offline too long. Booked Solid keeps working without internet for a 14-day grace window; if that lapses, the gate asks for one online check and the fix is simply to connect and click Check again - no renewal needed. What happens to your work while you are locked out
Your Booking HQ folder is the single local home of your data. A paused license blocks the app, not the folder - your leads, drafts, and files stay on your machine untouched. As soon as Check again succeeds, everything is exactly where you left it.
