Work offline: the 14-day grace and "Check again"

Booked Solid OS keeps working when you're offline. Once you're signed in, your license stays valid for a 14-day grace window even if the app can't reach the license server. After that, the app asks for one quick online check before it lets you back in - that's what the Check again button is for.

How the offline grace window works

While you're signed in, the app quietly revalidates your license in the background. If the server is unreachable - you're on a plane, the venue has no Wi-Fi, or the server itself is having a bad day - nothing dramatic happens. The app keeps track of how many grace days you have left and lets you keep working exactly as before.

  • Your work is untouched. Drafts, leads, tasks, and everything in your Booking HQ stay right where they are.
  • The window is 14 days. That's counted from the last successful license check, not from when you noticed you were offline.
  • You don't need to do anything as long as the app manages a successful check at least once every 14 days. For most performers this happens automatically and invisibly.

When the grace window runs out

The countdown keeps running even while you're offline. The moment the 14 days lapse, the Account Gate appears over the app with a message explaining that it has been too long since the last license check, along with a Check again button.

This is not a lockout of your data. Your Booking HQ and all your files are safe on your computer. The app just needs to confirm your license once before it steps aside.

Get back in with Check again

  1. Connect your computer to the internet.
  2. On the Account Gate, click Check again.
  3. The app reaches the license server, revalidates your account, and the gate steps aside. You're back where you left off, with a fresh grace window behind you.

If Check again doesn't clear the gate, confirm you're actually online (try loading a website), then click it once more.

Offline gate or paused license? How to tell the difference

The Account Gate handles two different situations, and they look similar at first glance:

  • Too long offline: the gate says it needs an online check and shows Check again. Connecting once and clicking the button solves it.
  • Paused license: the gate shows a Renew button as well. That means the license itself was paused, not that you were offline. Renew on the purchase page first, then click Check again to pick up the change.

One more thing worth knowing: the background check can also bring up the gate immediately if your account is signed out or your license is revoked, regardless of the grace window. In every case, the fix flows through the same gate - resolve the account status, then Check again.
