If the Mago CRM connection in Booked Solid keeps failing with a 308 error when you try to sign in, this article gets you back in. The short version: Mago moved their sign-in address, and app versions older than 1.11.76 did not follow the move. Updating the app fixes it.
What the 308 actually is
A 308 is not a wrong password and it is not your account. It is Mago's server saying "this address moved, go to the new one." Mago relocated the address the app signs in through. Newer versions of Booked Solid follow that move automatically and sign in at the new address. Older versions stopped at the 308 and showed you the bare number instead.
That is also why the terminal route still worked for you while the app did not: the terminal way of checking Mago does not go through the app's sign-in at all, so it never hit the moved address.
The fix: update to 1.11.76 or later
- Update Booked Solid to version 1.11.76 or later. If the app claims you are up to date but the version number is older than that, download the current installer by hand from booked.kivimedia.co/download and run it. The article Which version am I running - and why the app says "you're up to date" when it isn't walks through this.
- Open the Connections screen and find the Mago CRM card.
- Sign in with your Mago email and Mago password, the same ones you use on the Mago site.
Your email and password are encrypted together in the local vault, and Booked Solid exchanges them directly with Mago for a temporary API token. The app also refuses to carry your password anywhere except Mago's own site, even if a redirect points somewhere else.
If it still will not sign in after updating
- A wrong password no longer shows a bare number. On current versions Mago's own message is quoted back, for example "The user name or password is incorrect." If you see that, re-enter the password you use at mago.co.
- Signing in on Mago's website first proves the password is right before you blame the app.
