The version check your BookingHQ folder runs at startup reads a feed with several lines in it. This page says which line is yours, what to make of the number 2026.07.04 that keeps showing up, and how to fix an old launcher that flags a false update.
Which line is mine
The feed at booked.kivimedia.co/api/version/os carries four entries:
- pro: the Pearl license, also called the operator tier. This is your line if there is no AUTOPILOT.md in your folder.
- autopilot: the Otto license. Your line if AUTOPILOT.md is present.
- os: the Sol tier, the skill file you upload to claude.ai. It has stayed at 2026.07.04 and it is never the terminal package's number.
- workspace: the checksum of the published file list, used by the workspace check.
Compare _config/version in your folder against your own line only. As of 16 September both pro and autopilot read 2026.09.16, so a folder at 2026.09.10 is one build behind and an update moves you forward, never backward.
How to update
Say update booked solid in your terminal. Since 2026.09.16 the Booked Solid desktop app does the refresh: it fetches the newest build, checks it, and refreshes the playbook while brain, leads, inbox, queue and _config stay untouched. If the app is not installed on this computer, download the package from the Green Room and use the update sentence from the article on opening Claude in your BookingHQ folder.
"latest published OS version: 2026.07.04" in the workspace check
check my workspace runs scripts/verify-workspace.mjs. That script prints the os line of the feed as a courtesy line. It does not compare it to your version and it plays no part in the verdict. Read the lines that matter instead:
- Verdict: complete and corroborated: all 73 files are present, intact, and match a published release.
- NOT CORROBORATED: your files are intact but the list is not the one currently published. Most often you are one build behind. Update, then run the check again.
- MISSING or DAMAGED: something to repair. Update first, then check again.
A June launcher that flags a false "New version available"
Launchers made before July checked a retired address and always read the pro line, so an Otto folder saw a mismatch and flagged it. Updates replace scripts/bookedsolid (and scripts/bookedsolid.ps1 on Windows), but a copy you keep at the top of your folder is not part of the package, so it never gets refreshed. Copy the fresh one over it once. On a Mac:
cp ~/BookingHQ/scripts/bookedsolid ~/BookingHQ/bookedsolid then chmod +x ~/BookingHQ/bookedsolid
The current launcher reads your tier from AUTOPILOT.md and only nudges when the published version is newer than yours.
Good to know: the House Rules block in CLAUDE.md
The block between the two House Rules marker comments is a mirror of _config/house-rules.md, written by the desktop app when you save House Rules in the app or open the terminal through the app. A rule you add straight to the file appears in the block after the next one of those. Otto reads the file itself on every turn, so the rule is already in force.
