Approve, edit, or hold a decision (gate cards on the Board)

When Otto reaches something he won't do without you - sending a quote, committing to a fee, locking a date - he parks it as a gate card on the Board and waits. Nothing goes out until you say so. This article walks through reading a gate card and the four things you can do with it.

Where decisions show up

Open Activity (the button next to the Chat | Power view switch) and pick the Board tab. The Board is one live surface: running and queued jobs plus every parked decision, with the "Needs you" items always pinned to the top so they can't get buried under work in progress.

You don't have to keep the app in view either - the moment a new decision is parked, your computer shows an OS notification that reads "A decision needs you". Decisions also appear in the "Needs your decision" lists on the Today and Tasks tabs, which link you back here.

Reading a gate card

Each gate card lays out the essentials in plain meta rows:

• To: who this is going to
• Fee: the money involved
• Date: the date in play

Occasionally Otto has something for you that doesn't fit the card format. In that case you get a "Something needs your eyes" card written in prose instead - read it and respond through the chat bar.

Your four options

1. Approve: green-light it as is. Your verdict routes straight back into the run and Otto continues from there.
2. Edit: tap Edit, describe what's off in the "What should change?" box, then press Send change. Otto reworks it with your note and comes back.
3. Not now: put the decision on hold. It stays parked so you can come back to it later.
4. X: dismiss it. This isn't a soft hide - it clears the underlying queue file for real, so the item is gone.

When Approve is grayed out

Booked Solid enforces your house rules at the Approve button itself. If a parked send breaks one of them - the fee is below your floor rate, or the recipient is on your never-contact list - the Approve button is disabled and the card shows the reason in plain language. You can still Edit the item (for example, raise the fee) or dismiss it, but you cannot approve something that violates your own standing rules.

Your floor rate and never-contact list live in Settings > General, so if a rule is blocking something on purpose-built terms, that's where to adjust it.

Job cards on the same Board

Alongside gate cards you'll see job cards for running and queued work:

• Click a job card to steer it in chat. If the job is currently running, clicking jumps you to the Live view so you can watch it act by act.
• Each job card has its own X to dismiss it from the Board.

Approving from your phone

If you're on the Otto tier, you can set up the Booth in Settings > General so parked decisions also arrive on your phone as Telegram cards with Approve and Reject buttons. A tap on your phone applies the verdict through the exact same path as the in-app buttons.
