If the password is simply gone, you do not have to reset it. Booked Solid can email you a 6 digit code that signs you in and leaves your password exactly as it was. This article covers that door, and what to do when the code does not turn up.
Use the sign-in code
- On the sign-in screen, tap Email me a sign-in code instead.
- In the box marked Username or email, type either one.
- Tap Send me a code.
- Check your email, type the code into The 6 digit code from the email, and tap Sign me in.
The code is good for 15 minutes. Your password is untouched, so the one you eventually remember still works.
Nothing arrived
The screen always reads If that account exists, a code is on its way to its email address, whether or not an account was found. That is deliberate, so a stranger cannot use this screen to learn whether you have an account. It also means the screen looks identical when nothing was sent, which is why people press the button three times.
After a couple of minutes with nothing in your inbox, do not press it again. Try the other thing in that box: your email address if you typed a username, or your username if you typed an email. The screen tells you this too.
Two things that used to stop codes arriving have been fixed, so rule them out rather than worry about them:
- Capital letters no longer matter. Type your name the way you naturally write it.
- Your email address works in that box now, not only your username.
If neither finds anything, the address on the account is probably not the one you are checking. Email us and we will look at the account itself.
The other door: a full password reset
If you want a new password rather than a way in, use Forgot your password instead. It takes the same Username or email, sends the same kind of 6 digit code, and then asks you to set a new password of 8 or more characters before it signs you in.
Good to know
If you bought Booked Solid from the original vendor before the move, the sign-in code door cannot finish on its own. The app hands you to the reset screen still holding the code you were sent, so you set a password once and carry on. Your work is untouched either way: your bookings live in your Booking HQ folder on your own computer.
