On the iPhone app, tapping a card under Up next does nothing and every card says Handle the Reply: how to open a job from your phone

On the Booked Solid iPhone app, every card under Up next said Handle the Reply, and tapping one did nothing. Both were real bugs and both are fixed. Each half needs its own update, so here is what to update and what a tap does now.

Why it happened

Each card is a job Otto has queued. The header used to be the name of the play the job belongs to, so a row of reply jobs all read Handle the Reply. Now the header is the job's own sentence, for example Ellen Marks needs a reply, and the play name moves to the small line underneath. A scheduled task keeps its own name, because its reason is the same on every run.

The tap was a separate fault. Cards under Up next, Working and Done had nothing to press at all.

Get both fixes

• The headers come from your computer. The phone reads its list from the computer it is paired to, so this half arrives with the desktop app, version 1.11.86 or newer. On the computer, open Settings and look under Updates, where it says You’re running Booked Solid and the number. If yours is older, click Check for updates in the top bar, then Restart & install.
• The tap lives in the iPhone app. Update Booked Solid OS from the App Store. Version 1.11.87 or newer of the iPhone app has it.

What a tap does now

Open the Tasks tab on your phone.

• A card under Up next, Working or Done opens Chat with that job's line already in the message box, for example Let's work on this: "Ellen Marks needs a reply". It is not sent. Add to it or change it, then tap the send arrow. A tap in your pocket can never start a run by itself. This is the same thing clicking a card does on the computer.
• A card under Needs you has an Open decision button.
• A scheduled task has a Run now button, which starts that job on your computer.

On the Today tab, a card under The next right moves takes you to Tasks, or to your decisions if it needs you.

If it still does not work

• Every header still says Handle the Reply: the computer is older than 1.11.86. Update the desktop app first.
• The phone shows Not paired or Offline: the phone only shows work while your computer is on, connected, and running Booked Solid. To pair, click Work from my phone in the top bar on the computer and follow its steps: install Tailscale on the phone and sign in with the same account, then choose Pair my computer in the iPhone app and scan the code on the computer screen.
