You can reset a forgotten password right from the sign-in screen. Booked Solid OS emails a 6-digit code to the address on your account, you type it in, choose a new password, and you're back in. The whole thing takes about a minute.
Before you start
You'll need two things:
- Your username - the one you picked when you activated your license.
- Access to the email address on your account - the address you entered during activation. The reset code is sent there.
You also need to be online for this step, since the app has to reach the Booked Solid server to send the code and save the new password.
Reset your password step by step
- Open Booked Solid OS. When you're signed out, the Account Gate (the sign-in screen) appears before the rest of the app.
- Click Forgot your password under the sign-in fields.
- Enter your username.
- Click Send me a code. A 6-digit code is emailed to the address on your account.
- Check your inbox, then type the code into the 6-digit code field.
- Enter your new password in the New password field.
- Click Save my new password.
- That's it - the app signs you straight in with the new password. There is no separate sign-in step.
The code didn't arrive?
- Check your spam or junk folder. The code comes from Booked Solid <booked@send.kivimedia.co>, and some inboxes file it away.
- Give it a minute. Email delivery can lag slightly.
- Confirm the username. The code goes to the email tied to that exact username. A typo in the username means the code goes nowhere useful.
- Request a fresh code. Wait a minute, then click Send me a code again. Clicking it twice within the same minute does not send a second email - the first code is still on its way and still valid. A fresh code replaces the old one, so always use the newest email.
Good to know: the code's limits
- It expires in 15 minutes. If you see "That code has expired. Request a new one.", just send yourself a fresh code.
- Five wrong tries end it. After 5 wrong attempts the code is dead and you need a new one. Copy and paste from the email to avoid typos.
- The screen always says a code is on its way. For your security, it never confirms whether a username exists - so a typo in the username also looks like "sent". Double-check the spelling if nothing arrives.
Changed your mind?
Click Back to sign in at any point during the reset. Nothing changes on your account until you click Save my new password, so backing out is always safe.
Forgot your username too?
The reset flow needs your username to know where to send the code. If you've lost track of it, use the Need a hand? Contact the help desk link on the Account Gate and we'll help you recover access.
