Change the email address on your Booked Solid account

Modified on Sun, 26 Jul at 7:52 AM

Your Booked Solid OS account email is the address you typed when you first set up your account with your license code. It is what password reset codes are sent to, so it is worth keeping current. This article explains how to change it.

There is no in-app way to change your account email

The Set up your account screen asks for your email once, at activation, and binds it to your username. After that, the app has no field for editing the account email. That is by design, not a missing button, so you will not find it in Settings.

How to change it

  1. On the sign-in screen, use Need a hand? Contact the help desk.
  2. Tell us the username on the account and the new email you want to use.
  3. The help desk verifies that the account is yours and updates the email for you.

Once the change is made, future password reset codes go to the new address.

Account email vs. the inboxes Otto works with

These are two different things:

  • Your account email is only for signing in and resetting your password. It is set at activation and changed by the help desk.
  • The mailboxes you connect (your Gmail or other inboxes that Otto reads and drafts from) are managed on the Connections tab under Mail & calendars. You can add or remove those yourself at any time.

Changing one does not change the other.

Good to know

  • Keep your account email current before you need it. If you forget your password and the old inbox is gone, the reset code has nowhere to land.
  • Changing your account email does not affect your license, your work, or any connected mailbox.
